Scott Cressman says his Huntington experience was instrumental in being accepted into multiple Big 10 medical schools. That’s because med schools are looking for well-rounded candidates. For sure, Scott’s rigorous science training provided a solid foundation. But HU’s liberal arts curriculum expanded his world, while courses in speech and psychology, for example, gave him some of the softer skills physicians need. He cultivated his musical side in the Brass Ensemble and Pep Band. And through the Joe Mertz Center, Scott volunteered at a camp, participated in two Habitat builds and gained inspiration for greater service, like working with AIDS patients during his recent trip to Rwanda.
