Heather Barkley
Associate Director of Marketing for Graduate and Professional Programs
Heather Barkley, APR, has served as the Associate Director of Marketing for Graduate and Professional Programs at Huntington University since 2012. In this role, she purchases advertising, manages marketing budgets, supervises the graduate admissions staff, and assists with website maintenance. Barkley also has taught in the Professional Studies Programs since 2009. She formerly served as the coordinator for graduate and adult program marketing from 2010-2012 and the marketing & web specialist for the university's EXCEL Adult Degree Programs from 2009-2010. From 2005-2009, she served as the assistant director of public relations in Huntington University's Office of Public Relations. In that role, she had responsibility for directing the university's news bureau; writing, editing, and distributing news items and feature stories; editing university publications; and submitting institutional research to several university-ranking organizations. In addition, Barkley served on the Web Development Team, Marketing Task Force, Crisis Management Team, Commencement Planning Team and Community Enhancement Council. In her role in the Division of Graduate and Professional Studies, she remains on the Marketing Task Force and Community Enhancement Council. From 2005-2012, she managed the public relations practicum, and in the fall of 2008 and 2011, she taught Introduction to Communication for the Department of Communication. In addition, Barkley advised Lambda Omega, Huntington University's chapter of Lambda Pi Eta, the national communication studies honor society, from 2008-2010. Barkley and Margi Roush, director of alumni relations, co-founded Breast Cancer Awareness Week on Huntington's campus in 2006, and they co-organized the event every October for five years.
