spiritual direction minor
Spiritual Direction and Counseling
In the Graduate Counseling Program, we believe that individuals who understand the dynamics of spiritual formation and direction make for more effective counselors. Through prayer, active mentoring, spiritual discipline, and reflection, students enrolled in the Spiritual Direction Minor are provided with an opportunity for in-depth exploration of the life and work of Christ. If you choose to add the spiritual direction minor, you will be encouraged to look inward, taking steps toward greater spiritual authenticity and faithfulness. Recognizing the image of God in others, you will learn to meet clients in their unique places of spiritual need. With training that prepares you to work with clients from a variety of faith backgrounds, you will learn to image Christ-likeness both implicitly and explicitly.
