This Pulitzer Prize-winning play is one of the most acclaimed dramas of the past decade. It is a thought-provoking story of a young woman struggling with both the genius and the mental instability of her father, a once brilliant mathematician. Proof’s mystery, humor, depth and richly complex characters all weave together seamlessly to create a compelling evening of theatre. “It is a smart and compassionate play of ideas,” states The New York Daily News. Please note: this play contains adult themes and content that is not suitable for children.

Huntington University Theatre Company is excited to bring another classic to the stage with Chekhov’s brilliant last play. The Cherry Orchard satirically scrutinizes the interplay of social classes in early 20th century Russia. As the Tsarist rule approaches its end, Madame Ranevskaya and her bourgeois family face social and economic disintegration, yet blissfully ignore the reality that is imminent. An ensemble cast of vivid characters will entertain, challenge and provide insight into why human nature is so reluctant to change.

There’s nothing like American actors singing in British dialects while wearing kimonos and traditional Kabuki makeup to tickle your funny bone and satisfy your craving for comic opera. You will not want to miss this wildly popular operetta from the British duo who wrote The Pirates of Penzance and H.M.S Pinafore. No comic opera could hold the stage without a romantic pair of lovers, beautiful music with soaring melodies, lavish costumes, a fantastical setting and outlandish characters involved in twisting plots. The Mikado is no exception! It will leave you humming and laughing to the very end.
