HUNTINGTON, Ind. — Huntington University’s Visiting Executive Seminar brings together business leaders and HU business students to discuss important issues in today’s business world. On April 12, the seminar will discuss “Who Needs a College Education?” The seminar will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the Habecker Dining Commons.

The seminar is led by Jim O’Donnell, Executive-In-Residence and Emeritus Standing, and Troy Irick, vice president for strategy and innovation.

The seminar will review articles from USA Today and the American Scholar, which argue whether a college education is really for everyone.

“Oscar Wilde thought that education was wasted on the young. Was he right? Should we keep pushing for everyone to have a college education? As we get older, and hopefully wiser, maybe the benefits of our education help us see life in a new and richer way,” O’Donnell said.

Attendees are invited to stay for a fellowship time over lunch following the program.

Attendance is free and open to the public, but reservations are required by April 3. RSVP to Linda Schmitz at 260-359-4042 or lschmitz@huntington.edu.
