Huntington, Ind.—Ruth Hathaway, former chemical consultant of Hathaway Consulting, will give a presentation titled, “New Generation Wastewater Treatment Plants,” at 4 p.m. April 9 in Hiner Hall of the Science Hall at Huntington University. The seminar is part of the Gerald D. Smith Lecture Series in the Natural and Mathematical Sciences, which gives students exposure to the career perspectives of experts in the natural and mathematical sciences fields.
Hathaway, who received a degree in chemistry from Huntington University in 1979, began her career as an analytical chemist, and after serving in a number of director positions, started her own consulting company where she supervised projects involving wastewater compliance and industrial cleanup. She was recognized as Huntington University Alumnus of the Year in 1994 and has also chaired the Division of Environmental Chemistry of the American Chemical Society.
The lecture is free and open to the public.
