
HUNTINGTON, Ind.— Abby Gaier, a 2007 Huntington University alumna, will give a presentation on her dissertation research on synthesis of porphyrins and their DNA interactions at 4 p.m. April 20 in Hiner Hall of the Science Hall on campus as part of the Gerald D. Smith Lecture Series in the Natural and Mathematical Sciences.
Gaier is a Ph.D. candidate in the
chemistry department at Purdue University and will also discuss life as a graduate student in the sciences.
The presentation is free and open to the public.
Gaier, who received a
chemistry education degree with a minor in physics in 2007, works in the research group of Dr. David McMillin at Purdue University.
