HUNTINGTON, Ind.— The Huntington University Peer Award recipients for September are Dr. Michael Cook, associate professor of counseling, and Dave Solloway, admissions counselor.

Cook was recognized by Dr. Michael Rowley, associate professor of communication, for his servant heart and his efforts to create a new assessment strategies for the department and university.

“Rather than seek recognition for his contributions, he focuses on helping others better themselves,” Rowley said. “Mike has a warm and encouraging personality; he’s a fine professor, a good friend and an asset to Huntington University. He is most deserving of this award.”

Solloway was recognized by Andy Vaught, former admissions counselor and currently the residence director for Wright Hall, for the excitement and creativity that he brings to his job.

“Knowing that the task of recruiting students in a competitive market is difficult, he constantly thinks of unique and innovative ways to communicate with and recruit prospective students, specifically those that are interested in transferring,” Vaught said. “He has been an excellent addition to the HU Admissions team and his efforts deserve to be noticed.”
