HUNTINGTON, Ind. — Dr. Walt Mueller, renown teacher and leader in the youth culture, has joined the graduate youth ministry leadership faculty at Huntington University.

Mueller is the founder and president of the Center for Parent/Youth Understanding, a non-profit organization bridging the gap between parents and teens, and has been working with youth and families for 31 years. He is an internationally-recognized speaker and author in the contemporary youth culture field, including books titled, “The Space Between: A Parent's Guide to Teenage Development” and the critically-acclaimed, Gold Medallion Award winner, “Understanding Today’s Youth Culture.”

The master’s degree in youth ministry leadership is offered in a hybrid format with online and on-site workshop classes around the country. Mueller will teach a one-day workshop in the Chicago area. He will begin teaching this fall semester.

“I've known Walt for a while and am thrilled that he enthusiastically accepted our offer to teach,” said Dr. Dave Rahn, director of the program. “We hope that Walt’s name recognition and appealing subject matter will attract a nice crowd and give our program some good exposure.”

Mueller holds a bachelor’s degree from Geneva College and a Master of Divinity degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He recently completed his doctorate at Gordon-Conwell in “Ministry to Postmodern Generations.”
