
HUNTINGTON, Ind.— The
Huntington University Department of History will host an alumni gathering and mini-lecture during Homecoming at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 8 in the RichLyn Library Conference Room. The lecture begins at 2 p.m.
Christina K. Smith, a 1989 HU history graduate and executive director of the Questa Foundation for Education in Fort Wayne, will present a mini-lecture dealing with her thoughts on “Guns, God and Generators: Reassessing U.S. Policy in Central Asia Ten Years after 9/11.” She will focus on a critique of post-9/11 American foreign policy toward Afghanistan and Pakistan and will also comment on how the tragedy of 9/11 was used by God in Afghanistan.
The public is invited.
