Huntington, Ind.— The Huntington College Music Department will present the 17th annual Church Music Concert on Monday, October 21, 2002. First Presbyterian Church on Wayne Street in Fort Wayne, Ind., will host the 7 p.m. concert. Admission is free and the concert is open to the public.
The HC Chamber Orchestra and Concert Choir, together with members of the Chancel Choir of the First Presbyterian Church of Fort Wayne, join together with faculty organist, Darlene Burkett, and faculty soloists Joni Killian, soprano; Janice Fulbright, contralto; Ben Kendall, tenor; John Thompson, baritone; and Dessie Arnold, concert mistress, to present one of the greatest choral works of the Classical Period, Franz Joseph Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass, and other Eighteenth Century masterworks. Great hymns of the church will also be presented with the HC Brass Ensemble, Organ and Handbells. (See below for a complete program of musical pieces.)
