Beal and Ressler earn NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors

Orange Beach, Ala. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced today that 286 men's soccer student-athletes have been named 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Among the list of honorees were HU juniors Isaac Beal (Greenfield, Indiana, Greenfield Central High School) and Derek Ressler (Apple Creek, Ohio, Central Christian High School).

Student-athletes are nominated by their institution’s head coach and must be at least a junior in academic standing and carry a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 14 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 53 NAIA All-America honors and 187 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations. U.S.News & World Report ranks Huntington among the best colleges in the Midwest.
