HUNTINGTON, Ind. – Huntington University soccer coach Russ Lawson announced that Leo High School standout Nicholas Bond has decided to continue his collegiate career as a Forester.
Bond played a key role in helping the Lions win consecutive ACAC championships. He had an impressive senior campaign in goal, posting .56 goals against average doing his part in assuring the backline had all the support they needed.
“When you see Nick’s technical ability and combine that with his ability to control his box, you begin to see quickly why he is able positively impact matches at all levels,” said Lawson. “He has also gained valuable experience playing his club ball for Fort Wayne United at the academy level.”
Bond possesses that same desire for excellence in the classroom as he earned a spot on the Indiana Soccer Coaches Association All-State Academic All Team and will enter HU this fall as a Presidential Colloquium student studying biology/pre-med.
Nicholas is the son of Thomas and Christine from Fort Wayne, Ind.
