INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Last Thursday Huntington University women’s tennis coach Roger Ferguson not only had a chance to watch some of the top female tennis players in the Midwest play, but the Forester skipper also served as a panelist at the 2013 USTA Midwest College Showcase in Indianapolis.

The showcase featured over 120 of the best high schoolers playing exhibition matches followed by a time of Q & A with a panel of college coaches. Coach Ferguson along with coaches from Purdue, Illinois, IUPUI, Ohio Northern, Butler and Cincinnati addressed questions regarding recruiting, what it takes to play college tennis, what coaches look for in athletes, etc.

"This was a great opportunity for players to impress college coaches with their tennis and for parents to learn firsthand how the recruiting process works,” said Ferguson. “I watched some great tennis and was impressed with the way these young athletes handled the whole process.

“I always enjoy meeting and talking with players and parents about our women's tennis program at Huntington University."
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women.
