Andrew Drummond, a computer science major from Huntington, Indiana (Huntington North High School), was named the Mid-Central Conference Baseball Player of the Week for the week of April 20-26, 2009.
The senior first baseman had an outstanding performance at the plate which helped lead the Foresters to a 4-2 record on the week and an automatic berth in the Mid-Central Conference Tournament. He tallied nine hits including three homeruns in 19 at-bats for a .474 average. He scored five runs himself and drove in a total of nine runs throughout the six-game stretch.
Heading into post-season play, Drummond is leading Huntington with his .441 batting average and is second on the team with 47 RBI, 10 doubles and seven homeruns. The Foresters (25-17) return to action when they open play in the MCC Tournament on Saturday, May 2.
