Ewing to bowl for Foresters


HUNTINGTON, Ind. - Huntington University head coach Jim Bischoff has announced that Rochester High School standout Brooke Ewing has signed a letter of intent to bowl for the Foresters this fall.

A two-time captain for her team, Ewing averaged 186 this past season for the Zebras and led the conference with her 192 average as a junior. In addition to finishing 11th at the 2012 Indiana Youth Queens, she also helped guide the 2012 Indiana All-Star team to victory over Kentucky and finished 7th in individual All-Star competition.

Ewing, an individual sectional champion in 2011 and 2012, is also a three-time regional qualifier and two-time semi-state qualifier. She was named to the 2013 Indiana High School Bowling West All-Regional Team and will be competing in the USBC Junior Gold Championships in Detroit, Mich., in July.

With 15 years of competitive bowling under her belt, Ewing has been a top finisher in several tournaments in the Indiana Junior Bowlers Tour. She also has racked up numerous other regional and local titles throughout her career.

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 46 NAIA All-America honors and 202 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
