For the first time since Coach Gary Turner took over the women's program five years ago, the Foresters finally found a way to top Taylor University 6-3. HU had three double winners in the victory. Stephanie Strong and Kendra Ganz teamed at #1 doubles for the 9-7 win and then Strong won 6-4, 6-2 at #1 singles and Ganz went 6-4, 7-5 at #2. Dawn Lauer was a 6-0, 6-4 winner at #5 singles and paired with Katie Springer for the 8-6 win at #3 doubles.
“This was the first time we played well against Taylor,” said Coach Turner. “For some reason, we have always allowed them to intimidate us, but not today. It was a great win for us.”
