HUNTINGTON, Ind. - Arguably one of Huntington University baseball’s most talented recruiting classes in program history, the Foresters are prepped to bring in 21 new players. Headlining Coach Mike Frame’s rookie crew are two Indiana North-South All Stars, Shea Beauchamp (Wabash, Ind., Wabash High School) and Mike Crowley (Porter, Ind., Chesterton High School).

Both players will represent the North with Beauchamp, a First Team All-State pick, earning a spot on the roster as one of two first baseman while Crowley, an Honorable Mention All-State selection, will serve as one of three catchers for the squad.

The North-South All-Star weekend is slated for July 13-14 and will take place at Wabash College. The weekend features two seven-innings games on Saturday and wraps up with a nine-inning game on Sunday.

Two other future Foresters have also received statewide recognition. Andy Roser (Roann, Ind., Northfield High School) was recently named First Team All-State as a catcher while Dalton Combs (Monroe, Ind., Adams Central High School) earned Honorable Mention All-State accolades as an outfielder/first baseman.

"We are very excited for the post season awards that several of our recruits have earned,” said Coach Frame. “It is another confirmation of the strength of our entering class. Thad has done a great job coordinating our 2013-14 recruiting efforts."
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 39 NAIA All-America honors and 213 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations. U.S.News & World Report ranks Huntington among the best colleges in the Midwest.
