In their final home competition of the year, the Foresters split a pair of matches on the day, dropping the opener to Olivet College 6-3, then defeating Anderson University 9-0.
Against Olivet, HU got off to a sluggish start and dropped all three doubles matches, but then picked it up to take three of the singles matches. Stephanie Strong outlasted Rachel Vilums 6-4, 2-6, 6-0 at #1. Jessica Deter won 6-4, 7-5 at #3 and Katie Sprunger got the 6-0, 6-3 victory at #4.
It was all Foresters in their second match of the day as HU blanked Anderson without dropping a set. In doubles play, both the #1 (Strong and Kendra Ganz) and #2 doubles (Deter and Liz Hull) won 8-3 while Dawn Lauer and Sprunger teamed for the 8-6 victory at #3.
The Foresters had no letdown in singles play. Strong picked up her second singles win of the day 6-1, 6-2. Ganz went 6-4, 6-2 at #2. At #3, Deter won 7-6, 6-2. Sprunger finished 6-2, 6-3 at #4. Lauer got the 6-2, 6-2 victory at #5 and Hull won 7-5, 6-2 at #6.
The split pushes the Foresters record to 10-9 on the season.
