WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – For the second time this season, the harsh weather conditions forced a shortened golf invitational for the Foresters. This time around, it was the Taylor University spring invitational at Purdue’s Kampen Course in West Lafayette that was cut a day short.

HU struggled through Monday’s 18 holes, shooting a 48-over 336 to finish 8th out of nine teams. Ryan Boester posted an eight-over 80, the 10th best score, to pace Huntington. Devin Dale carded an 82 while Lance Hoch and Derek Zurcher each turned in an 87. Drew Benedict finished with a 97.

Holy Cross captured the title by shooting a 318 followed by Taylor A (319), Bethel (322), Indiana Wesleyan (327), Taylor B (329), Calumet College of St. Joseph (334), Saint Francis (335), HU (336) and Purdue Calumet (344).

The Foresters now have a break until the Crossroads League Championships slated for April 29-30 at Harbour Trees Golf & Beach Club in Noblesville, Ind.

In the past decade, Huntington has produced 39 NAIA All-America honors and 213 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
