The Foresters went 2-1 on their trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina for spring break. HU picked up an 8-1 win over the University of Sioux Falls and blanked Principia College 9-0 before falling 9-0 to Southeast Missouri State University.
Against Sioux Falls, HU swept the doubles with Calli Fike and Kendra Ganz teaming for the 8-6 win at #1. Raelyn Althoff and Liz Hull won 8-5 at #2 and Jessica Deter and Katie Springer shutout their opponents 8-0 at #3.
In singles play, Althoff got the 6-1, 6-4 win at #1. Ganz won in straight sets without losing a game at #3. Deter was a 6-2, 6-2 winner at #4. Springer won 6-0, 6-1 at #5 and Hull went 6-1, 6-0 for the win at #6.
In the match with Principia, the Foresters only dropped one set in singles. Althoff won 6-3, 6-1 at #1. Fike was a 6-2, 6-3 winner at #2, Ganz went 6-2, 6-1 at #3 and Deter was a 6-3, 6-4 winner at #4. Sprunger got the 6-1, 6-2 victory at #5 and Hull outlasted her opponent 6-4, 1-6, 10-7 at #6.
HU also swept the doubles with little resistance. Althoff and Deter won 8-5 at #1. Ganz and Hull won by the same score at #2 and Fike and Springer blanked their opponents 8-0.
In their final contest, the Foresters were out-matched by Southeast Missouri State. Deter put up the best fight at #4 singles winning six games in the straight set loss.
The women now stand at 13-4 on the season.
