HU's top four players took care of business with each securing wins in both singles and doubles. Stephanie Strong and Raelyn Althoff worked quickly at #1 doubles with an 8-1 win, but Kendra Ganz and Calli Fike had to battle for the 9-8 victory at #2 doubles.
In singles' play, all four got straight set wins. Strong went 7-5, 6-0 at #1, Althoff won 6-2, 6-3 at #2, Ganz got the 6-1, 6-2 victory at #3 and Fike went 6-4, 6-3 at #4. Katie Sprunger outlasted Erin Katterheinrich 5-7, 6-0, 6-2 at #6 for the final Forester point.
"It was a big win for the women because it put us in a tie for second in the conference with Marian," said Coach Turner. "I was extremely pleased with the way we played. We stayed focused, knowing that a win was crucial for the team as well as for each individual."
