The Forester harriers concluded their season at the NAIA Region 8 Cross Country Championships with both squads placing seventh in the team standings. Spring Arbor won the women's event with 49 points and Aquinas ran away with the men's title with 39 points.
In women's action, junior Molly Andrews turned in another personal best with her time of 19:28 to pace HU. Her 15th place finish earned her NAIA All-Region honors for the first time in her career. Jill Roughia crossed in 33rd place with a time of 20:15. Shelly Chaffin ran to a 38th place finish in 20:21. Emily Sealscott placed 44th in 20:36, and Vanessa Macias was 49th in 20:47. Following Spring Arbor was Indiana Wesleyan (67), Aquinas (98), Bethel (120), Taylor (123), Goshen (176), Huntington (179), Siena Heights (183), Cornerstone (213), Marian (244), Grace (253), and St. Francis (375).
Freshman Nick Johnson was the Foresters' top finisher in the men's event crossing the line in 26:38 for 20th place. Cody Hannie was 27th in 26:59 with Dan Lindbloom six seconds behind in 29th place. David St. Louis finished back-to-back in 36th and 37th place with times of 27:24 and 27:26. Aquinas' closest challenger was Indiana Wesleyan with 85 points followed by Spring Arbor (120), Taylor (128), Siena Heights (130), Marian (140), HU (149), Cornerstone (176), Bethel (224), Goshen (236), and Grace (333).
