HUNTINGTON, Ind. - It was a strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde for the HU volleyball team as they struggled to do much right in their first two sets but stormed back to give Grace College a run for their money before eventually falling to the Lancers in four sets, 25-10, 25-11, 23-25, 27-25, Wednesday night at Platt Arena.
After a shaky start, the Foresters were able to regroup to give their home crowd plenty to cheer once they finally found their offensive groove. HU relied on a balanced attack with Jensen Carnahan dishing out 29 assists to a variety of targets. Audrey Mallers finished with nine kills. Abbey Keister registered seven kills while Melissa Grossman and Hillary Pulse each added five.
Keister was also active at the net defensively where she tallied three blocks. Codie Morey led the team in digs with 18.
The Foresters (3-14, 2-8) are in the thick of conference play this week, traveling to Saint Francis on Friday before hosting Spring Arbor on Saturday.
