The Foresters took both games of a doubleheader from Indiana Wesleyan University, but in very different manners as they won the first 3-1 in eight innings and the second 10-0 in five.
In the opener, Adam Farris sent one deep in the top of the second to give HU a 1-0 lead. The Wildcats evened things up with a run in the bottom of the sixth and when neither team scored in the seventh, they headed to extra innings. In the top of the eighth, Alex Rinearson reached base when IWU's Jeff Pierce bobbled his ground ball. After the next two batters struck out, Edwin Rodriguez belted a two-run homerun to give the Foresters the lead.
Korey Grow came on in relief of starter Michael Dalton in the bottom of the eighth and picked up his sixth save on the year. Dalton moved to 5-2 on the season with the win. He gave up one run on four hits and two walks while striking out three. Austan Kas went 2-3 in the leadoff spot for HU and Rodriguez led the team with his two RBI.
In the nightcap, pitcher Drew Taylor got a lot of help from his offense to go along with his two-hit gem on the mound. His pin-point precision led to nine strikeouts and no free passes in five innings of shutout baseball.
The Foresters blew the game open with seven hits and seven runs in the top of the second. The big blows in the inning included a two-run single from Grow and a three-run homerun from Rinearson. HU added a pair in the third and a solo round-tripper from Farris, his second of the day, in the fourth to complete the scoring.
Grow led the Foresters at the plate with three hits and three RBI. Rinearson also chipped in three RBI in the win.
