FORT WAYNE, Ind. - It was an impressive come-from-behind win for the Forester women’s tennis team (1-0, 1-0) as they found themselves down 1-2 after doubles play but stormed back to claim four of the six singles matches to snag the 5-4 conference win over the University of Saint Francis Wednesday afternoon at Swinney Park.

Stacie Cressman came up big for Huntington, winning at No. 6 singles and teaming up with Ciara Smith at No. 3 doubles to account for two points for her team while Cassie Kasicki made it look easy at #1 singles. The sophomore claimed an efficient 6-1 set over three-time All-Conference player Chelsea Selking before grinding out the second set 7-5.

Celine Rongos logged her first collegiate win at #2 singles where she beat Grace Heise in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.

“I was concerned when we came out of the doubles matches down 1-2,” said Coach Ferguson. “But our players stepped up in the singles matches and won four out of six for the win.”

The Foresters are back in action today when they face the University of Northwestern Ohio at 4:00 p.m.
