HUNTINGTON, IN— Huntington University men’s basketball
coach Ty Platt has announced his first recruit for the 2011-12 season. Westview High School standout, Justin Jantzi, has signed his letter of intent to continue his basketball career as a Forester.
Sidelined much of last season, Jantzi averaged 20.1 points and 5.0 rebounds in nine games as a junior. This 6’2 guard is a two-time NECC All-Conference selection and was named First Team All-Sectional as a sophomore.
"We are very excited to have Justin join our Forester basketball program. He is a talented, strong guard who is a very good scorer and can rebound well for his position,” stated Coach Platt. "Justin’s determination, dedication and hard-nosed play make him a perfect fit for HU. We are confident he will have a great career as a Forester.”
During the past decade, the Huntington University men’s basketball program has won five Mid-Central Conference (MCC) titles, five MCC tournament titles, and has had seven NAIA National Tournament appearances, including two Final Fours and a National Runner-Up finish in 2006.
