Knous headed to Huntington

 Huntington University softball coach Doug Gower announced that Bellmont High School senior standout, Katie Knous, has signed her National Letter of Intent to continue her softball career at Huntington University next fall.

As shortstop for the Squaws, Knous was named All NHC Middle Infield as a sophomore. Through her first three years she has amassed 85 hits, which includes 16 doubles and three homeruns, and 46 RBI. She has a .349 career batting average, a .530 slugging percentage and a .419 on-base percentage. She holds the school record for most doubles in a single season with 11. During her career the Squaws have won two sectional championships, two regional championships and made two appearances at the Final Four.

Knous has played for several travel teams. She is currently playing for Indiana Reign. As a former member of Hoosier Insanity, she was named MVP for two games at the Lookouts Tournament in Clinton, Michigan. She also played for the Diamond Diggerz 16U team that qualified for the World Series in Peoria, Illinois.

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 14 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past twelve years, Huntington has produced 70 NAIA All-America honors and 186 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
