Lambright, Stump Lead Foresters to Win

 The Foresters put forth their best effort of the season with a 5-4 win over a talented Ohio Northern University team. With the score tied at three after singles the Foresters needed to take two of the three doubles matches. The score remained tied after the completion of the #1 and #2 doubles matches, making the #3 match the deciding point. HU's Jason Stump and Mitchell McDonald prevailed 9-7 to give the Foresters the win.

Stump and Brian Lambright led the way for the Foresters with both winning tough three set matches in singles. Stump went 6-3, 6-7, 6-4 for the win at #5 and Lambright won 7-6, 6-7, 6-4 at #4. Lambright, then teamed with Tyler Moore at #1 doubles for the 8-4 win while Stump and McDonald finished off the match for the team victory. Huntington’s fifth point came from Adam Widener at #6 singles where he won in straight sets 6-4, 7-5.

“Our doubles teams are gaining confidence,” said HU coach Gary Turner. “It took me a while to put the right combinations together, but I think we have teams that play well together right now.”

The men even their season record at 2-2 with the win.
