McGraw, Johnson named Athletes of the Week

Huntington, Ind.—The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athletes of the Week for the week of Aug. 31-Sept. 6. Women’s soccer junior Bethany McGraw and men’s cross country senior Nick Johnson earned the honors for their outstanding efforts during the week’s competitions.

Bethany McGraw, an exercise science major from Toledo, Ohio (Toledo Christian High School), scored two goals to help lead the Foresters to their fist win of the season, a 3-2 victory on the road over Bluffton University. McGraw netted both goals in the first 24 minutes of play. The Foresters (1-3) returns to action Sept. 9 when they play Davenport University in their home opener at 3 p.m.

Nick Johnson
Nick Johnson, an exercise science major from Huntington, Ind. (Huntington North High School), ran an outstanding race to win the Hanover College cross country invitational. He finished 11 seconds ahead of the runner-up with a time of 25.55.28. The Foresters placed fourth in a field of 13 teams that included two NCAA rated teams. HU will next compete at the Indiana Intercollegiates at Indiana University on Sept. 19 at 3:45 p.m.
