Menzie posts PR at Dr. Keeler Invitational

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Coach Tom King took a handful of athletes to the Dr. Keeler Invitational hosted by North Central College as a last opportunity to qualify for the nationals and while no one was able to hit a qualifying mark, Brian Menzie had a record-setting day.

The junior shaved nearly four seconds off his personal best in the 1500 meters, breaking the four-minute barrier to take 26th out of 85 runners at the meet. His time of 3:59.88 also landed him the No. 2 spot in the record books behind Dave Luce’s run of 3:58.61, a record that has held since 1987.

Jake Nash also made the trip to Naperville (Ill.) where he finished 6th in high jump with a leap of 6-05.50. Tyler Herber was the only other Forester to compete. He posted a time of 34:36.78 in the 10,000 meter to finish 14th.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 39 NAIA All-America honors and 213 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
