HUNTINGTON, Ind. – The Huntington University volleyball program continues to build a solid roster for 2014-15 with the signing of St. Mary Catholic Central standout Annmarie Pizzo.

No stranger to success, Pizzo helped guide the Kestrels to an MHSAA Class C State Championships in 2012. The 5’5 setter also has back-to-back Huron League Championships under her belt and will look to bring her winning ways to the Forester program.

“HU is pleased to welcome Annie to our program,” said HU head coach Amy Settle. “Annie will step in as a court leader right away as she assumes setting duties for our club.

“Annie comes from a successful high school and club program; we are looking for her to use that experience to propel our program to success. We know that with her experience, combined with her love for the game, strong court sense and calm leadership under pressure, she is ready to make an immediate impact.”

Annie is the daughter of Joe and Mary Pizzo of Monroe, Mich.

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 38 NAIA All-America honors and 222 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations. U.S.News & World Report ranks Huntington among the best colleges in the Midwest.
