The Spring Arbor University Cougars swept all six singles matches after dropping two of the three doubles to defeat the Foresters 7-2. HC’s two wins came at #2 doubles, where Mitchell McDonald and Brian Lambright won 8-4, and at #3 singles with Jason Stump and Brandon Curtis teamed to win 8-3. In singles play, #3 Stump (3-6, 6-0, 6-7) and #6 Lambright (1-6, 6-3, 1-6) both took their match to three sets, but eventually succumbed to the Cougars. “We are improving, but still missing the big points,” said Coach Turner. “We need to capitalize on our opportunities. We play much more relaxed in doubles. We need to do that more in singles.” The loss drops the men to 1-6 on the season and 1-5 in the MCC.
