Shively named Forester Athlete of Week

Huntington, Ind.—The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 24-30. Men’s basketball sophomore Tyler Shively earned the honor for his outstanding effort during the week’s competitions.

Tyler Shively, an Accounting major from Columbia City, Ind. (Columbia City High School), set a new NAIA Division II national record by hitting 70 consecutive free throws between Jan. 2 and Nov. 25, 2008. The streak spanned 20 games and came to an end against Judson University on Nov. 29. He tied the 11-year mark when he went 6-6 at the stripe on Nov. 22 against St. Xavier University. He then shattered the record with a 10-10 performance in an 86-76 Forester win over Olivet Nazarene University on Nov. 25.
