Spahr earns second Crossroads League Runner of the Week honor

HUNTINGTON, Ind. - For the second time in her collegiate career, Huntington University junior Gretchen Spahr was named the Crossroads League Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week of October 7, 2013, based on her outstanding performance at the NCAA III Pre-Nationals 6K Invitational hosted by Hanover College.

Competing over the weekend against 228 athletes representing 18 different schools, Spahr (Huntington, Ind., Huntington North High School) crossed the line in 23:16 to finish 18th and pace her team to a 6th place finish overall.

Spahr earned this same honor last year for the week of September 17 for her outstanding efforts at the 2012 Indiana Little State.

The Foresters have a two-week break before running in the Wilmington College Fall Classic on October 18.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 39 NAIA All-America honors and 213 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
