Sparks named Crossroads League Runner of the Week

HUNTINGTON, Ind. - Huntington University sophomore Christine Sparks has been named the Crossroads League Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week of September 2, 2014.

Sparks ran a course record of 19:02.64 at the Bluffton University (Ohio) Invitational on Friday to guide the Foresters to a first place finish out of five teams in their opening meet of the year.

The Bloomington native (Bloomington North HS) finished first out of 68 runners in the 5K race.

HU is back in action on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. to compete in the Madison Kiwanis Invitational hosted by Hanover College.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 38 NAIA All-America honors and 222 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
