Forester Jason Stump continued his hot streak with two more wins at Franklin College to help lead HU to the 7-2 win. Stump, who has only lost once in singles and once in doubles in his last six matches, defeated Ryan Meyer 6-0, 6-4 at #5 singles, then teamed with Mitchell McDonald to win their #3 doubles match by the identical score. McDonald joined Stump as the only other double winner on the day with a 6-4, 6-1 win at #2 singles.
“This was a good match for us to help prepare for next week’s conference tournament,” said Coach Turner. “I wanted to make sure the guys stayed mentally tough today, and for the most part, they did a good job.”
Other winners included Daron Short and Dustin Ecker (6-2, 6-0) at #2 doubles, Tyler Moore (6-2, 6-3) at #1 singles, Brian Lambright (6-3, 7-6) at #4 singles and Adam Widener (6-2, 6-2) at #6 singles.
The win pushes the Foresters team record back to 500 at 5-5.
