Taylor University gained an edge by winning two of the doubles matches and got enough singles' wins to get by the Foresters 5-4.
Stephanie Strong and Raelyn Althoff battled for the lone win for HU at #1 doubles earning the victory 9-8. A price was paid though as Strong, who has been hampered by an ankle injury, was unable to play her singles' match. The default gave Taylor a 3-1 lead before the remainder of the singles' matches got underway.
HU won three singles' matches, but it wasn't enough to overtake the Trojans. Althoff won a tough three setter at #3 1-6, 6-3, 6-3. Kristen Lahman was a 7-5, 6-1 winner at #4 and Erica Abel won 7-6, 6-1 at #6.
With the loss, the women fall to 6-4 on the season and 3-3 in conference play.
