Volleyball Vacala

HUNTINGTON, Ind. – Fremont High School senior Sarah Vacala is the latest addition to the Forester volleyball team as announced by HU head coach Amy Settle earlier this week.

Vacala comes to Huntington as an Honorable Mention All-Conference outside hitter. She finished last season with 236 kills for a 7.2 kill average per match to go along with 104 digs.

Coach Settle looks forward to Vacala officially joining the program “Sarah already seems like a member of the Forester family. Having followed our program for years and cheered us on in the stands, it is only fitting that she sign to play for us.

“We are excited that she will be bringing her passion for the University and the sport to our program. She is a young lady of outstanding work ethic and character who, combined with her ability, will undoubtedly make her mark on our program.”

In the offseason, Vacala has played for the Pineapple Volleyball Club and Summit City Wave. She is the daughter of Rod and Melissa Higbee of Fremont, Ind.

The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 39 NAIA All-America honors and 213 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations.
