Schaefer to present on ‘C.S. Lewis: Science and Scientism’ at HU lecture

HUNTINGTON, Ind. —Dr. Henry Schaefer, a noted professor of chemistry, will present on “C.S. Lewis: Science and Scientism” for the upcoming Forester Lecture at 7 p.m. Oct. 29. The lecture will take place in the Zurcher Auditorium of the Merillat Centre for the Arts at Huntington University.

Since 1987, Schaefer has been the Graham Perdue professor of chemistry and director of the Center for Computational Quantum Chemistry at the University of Georgia. Previously, he served as a professor of chemistry at the University of California at Berkeley. He is an internationally recognized expert in chemistry and has received numerous prestigious awards and honors for his work in computational chemistry. He is also an advocate of intelligent design.

Schaefer’s lecture will be a precursor to the upcoming C.S. Lewis panel at 7 p.m. Nov. 21. This panel will be held in the upper level of the Habacker Dining Commons.

The lectures are free and open to the public.

The Forester Lecture Series is designed to bring interesting persons and topics to the attention of students and the regional community.
