Griffith named Forester Athlete of the Week

HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athlete of the Week for the week of January 21-27, 2013. Women’s bowling freshman Casandra Griffith earned the honor for her outstanding effort over the weekend.

Griffith, a nursing major from Garrett, Ind. (Garrett H.S.), paced the Foresters to a 37th place finish at the 2013 Blue Gold Classic at Chippewa Bowl in South Bend. The right-hander tallied 1,565 pins over nine games for a 173.9 average with a high game of 227.

The Foresters, currently in their inaugural season, have bowled in eight competitions to date with their highest finish at the Boilermaker Classic where they brought home a seventh place finish out of 16 teams.

HU is back in action this weekend when they travel to Columbus, Ohio for the Buckeye Classic. 
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 46 NAIA All-America honors and 202 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations.
