McGraw, Johnson named Forester Athletes of Week

Huntington, Ind.—The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athletes of the Week for the week of Feb. 9-15. Women’s track junior Bethany McGraw and men’s track senior Nick Johnson earned the honor for their outstanding efforts during the week’s competitions.

Bethany McGraw, an exercise science major from Toledo, Ohio (Toledo Christian High School), scored seven points for the Foresters during their indoor track meet at DePauw University. Competing against NCAA Division I and II competition, she finished fifth in the long jump with a leap of 17-05.25, and she was sixth in the 200 meter with a time of 26.51.Huntington returns to action on Feb. 20 when they travel to Grand Valley State University at 4 p.m.

Nick Johnson
Nick Johnson, an exercise science major from Huntington, Ind. (Huntington North High School), turned in an outstanding performance at the DePauw University Invitational. Johnson broke the 15 minute mark to win the 5000 meter event with a time of 14:59.58. His time also met qualification standards to compete in the NAIA Indoor Track National Championships in early March. Johnson also finished sixth in the 3000 meter run with a time of 9:04.68. The Foresters will next compete at Grand Valley State University on Feb. 20 at 4 p.m.
