Huntington, Ind.—The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athletes of the Week for the week of April 21-27. Women’s track sophomore Bethany McGraw and men’s baseball senior Alex Rinearson earned the honor for their outstanding efforts during the week.
Bethany McGraw, an exercise science major from Perrysburg, Ohio (Toledo Christian High School), had an outstanding individual performance for Huntington at the Mid-Central Conference Track and Field Championships. Her winning leap of 17-11.75 in the long jump earned her MCC All-Conference honors as well as an opportunity to compete in the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in May. She also placed in four other events, earning 35 of the Foresters’ 65 team points in the meet. The Foresters return to action on May 3 at the Butler University Twilight meet at 4 p.m.
Alex Rinearson
Alex Rinearson, an elementary and special education major from Fort Wayne, Ind. (Northrop High School), played an instrumental role in Huntington’s three wins during the week. He had a pair of two-run homeruns and a solo shot as well as a double and a game-winning RBI single to help the Foresters solidify a second place finish in the Mid-Central Conference standings. Huntington will next begin post-season play on April 30 at 10 a.m. at Indiana Wesleyan University.
