Forester Baseball adds power, defense in Roth

Huntington, Ind.—Manchester High School catcher and first baseman Marc Roth, son of Cheryl and Bob Roth of North Manchester, has made his decision to attend Huntington College official, as he recently signed a letter of intent for the upcoming school year. Roth hit .365 with 9 HR and 29 RBI in 24 games this season, and was named an All Three Rivers Conference selection for the second year in a row. He also holds the Manchester H. S. career home run record with 16.

“We are very happy that Marc has decided to continue his education and play baseball at HC,” said Huntington College men’s baseball coach Mike Frame. “We think he is going to be an outstanding college player.

Frame said he will look at Roth at both catcher and first base, and believes he will make a solid impact on the team next season.

Huntington College is a member of the Mid-Central Conference in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletes (NAIA), Division II. The Foresters finished 29-18 this season, capturing the MCC Tournament championship to earn a berth in the Region 8 tournament.

HC is a private, Christian liberal arts college located in Huntington, IN, with an enrollment of approximately 1,000 students. The Foresters compete in 14 intercollegiate sports for both men and women.
