HUNTINGTON, Ind. - On Saturday, November 17, the 18th-ranked Forester women’s cross country team will compete in the 33rd annual NAIA Women’s Cross Country National Championships at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, Wash.
The women's 5K run will start at 10:30 a.m. PST, followed by the men's 8K race at 11:45 a.m.
It marks the fourth time since 1999 the HU harriers have competed on the national stage as a team. The last time the Forester women ran at the NAIA National Championships was in the fall of 2002 when they finished 23rd.
The Foresters received an automatic bid to the tournament as the Crossroads League champions. Led by Cendall Ogle’s first place finish, HU claimed the conference title with 60 points on November 3rd at Indiana Wesleyan University to punch their ticket to Washington.
The 32-team women's field features 22 conference/independent/unaffiliated group champions, two conference/independent/unaffiliated group runner-ups and seven at-large selections.
The NAIA will be partnering with NeuLion to video-stream the awards ceremony. For more information, visit www.naia.org.
