Nick Johnson and Joseph Njeri sprinted to a one, two finish at the Manchester College Invitational to lead the Foresters to another team win. Johnson crossed the line first in 24:59 with Njeri behind him in 25:51.
HU dominated overall placing six runners among the top 15 finishers. Joseph Herber was eighth in 26:16 with Dan Lindbloom right behind in ninth with a time of 26:17. Alec Rosario was 14th in 26:41 and Luke Diehl was 15th in 26:48. Other Foresters participating in the event included Josh Barnett (63rd, 28:53), Luke Andrews (73rd, 29:11) and David Boyer (99th, 31:15).
The Foresters won the event with a team score of 31 followed by Manchester (69), Cornerstone (82), Anderson (98), Hope (143), Calvin (147), Earlham (175), St. Francis (230), Trine (236), Kalamazoo (259) and Olivet (302).
On the women's side, HU finished 10th of 12 teams with a team score of 296. Jill Roughia paced the Foresters with a 32nd place finish in 25:07. Bradie Vance was 63rd in 26:19. Krystal McHenry finished 89th in 27:13. Molly Shirey crossed the line in 28:09 for a 101st place finish and Britley McConnell was 103rd in 28:15.
Cornerstone won the invitational with a team score of 46 followed by Calvin (61), St. Mary's (99), Anderson (125), Manchester (143), Kalamazoo (157), St. Francis (177), Hope (179), Earlham (220), HU (296), Transylvania (314) and Trine (356).
