FORT WAYNE, Ind. - After shooting a 308 on day one of the University of Saint Francis Fall Invitational at Cherry Hill Golf Club, the Forester golf team held their spot by carding a 311 in second round action at Autumn Ridge Golf Club to bring home a fourth place finish out of 13 teams.
Up against six other Crossroads teams, the Forester finished third, four strokes behind Saint Francis. For the tournament, HU carded 16 birdies and 96 pars.
Josh Teulker finished in a tie for sixth with an eight-over-par 152 (75, 77) to pace the Foresters. Cousins Rylan Porter (79, 74) and Devin Dale (75, 78) each fired a 153 to tie for ninth.
Lance Hoch closed with a 161 (79, 82) while Mickey Belt turned in a 163 (81, 82). Derek Zurcher competed as an individual and finished with a 167 (83, 84).
Porter and Mike Prior (Holy Cross) led scoring on Tuesday at 74.
Bethel College shot out of the gates to take a 19-stroke lead after Monday’s round and then cruised to the win by shooting a 15-over-par 591 to claim top honors followed by Holy Cross (609), Saint Francis (615), Huntington (619), Indiana Tech (630), Spring Arbor (631), Cornerstone (634), Grace (644), Calumet (656), Indiana Wesleyan (660), Mount Vernon (667), Indiana Tech B (686), Purdue North Central (721), Goshen (DNF).
