Huntington, Ind.—The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athletes of the Week for the week of Nov. 13-19. Women’s basketball freshman Jenna Donaldson and men’s basketball senior Kyle Ganton earned the honors for their outstanding efforts during the week’s competitions.
Jenna Donaldson, a pre-med biology major from Auburn, Ind. (DeKalb High School), was instrumental in leading the Foresters to a 2-0 week by averaging 22 points a game on 72 percent (18-25) shooting and 7.5 boards. On the road against NAIA Division II 14th-ranked Aquinas College, Donaldson led Huntington to the 70-69 overtime win with team-highs of 18 points and seven rebounds, and in the Foresters’ 106-92 victory over NAIA Division I Olivet Nazarene, she went 11-13 from the field for 26 points and added eight rebounds. The Foresters (4-1) begin MCC action on Nov. 21 when they travel to Indianapolis to take on the Knights of Marian College at 7 p.m.
Kyle Ganton, an elementary education major from Coldwater, Mich. (Bronson High School), put together three solid performances to help Huntington go 3-0 on the week. He averaged 20.3 points and 5.3 boards per contest while shooting 64 percent (18-28) from the field, including 62 percent (8-13) from 3-point range, and a perfect 17-17 from the line. He capped off the week with a 26-point performance in the championship game of the Huntington University/Ness Brothers Hall of Fame Classic to earn a selection to the All-Tournament team. Huntington returns to action hosting Marian College in their MCC conference opener on Nov. 21 at 7 p.m.
