HC freshman Doug Sheckler came off the bench to score a career-high 29 points in the #6-ranked Foresters 75-66 win over Grace College. Down 28-20 with seven minutes to play in the half, HC needed someone to step up. Sheckler answered the call scoring seven of the Foresters' next nine points over the next minute and a half of play to help HC reclaim the lead at 29-28. Grace immediately took back the lead with a Joe Saunder's basket, but Sheckler responded with another field goal to give the Foresters the lead for good. HC held a 40-35 edge at the break and never allowed the Lancers any closer than three the remainder of the game. In the second half, Sheckler continued to dominate adding 18 points to his 11 in the opening period. For the game, the Foresters were able to overcome 20 offensive rebounds by Grace with their 51% to 39% advantage in shooting and five fewer turnovers (13-18). Joining Sheckler in double figures for HC was Alex Kock with 16 and Kyle Ganton with 11. Andrew Kipsey led the Lancers with 14 points. Tim Bailey added 12 points and eight rebounds. The win gives the Foresters a 10-4 record overall and a perfect 4-0 start in MCC play.
