Short named Forester Athlete of the Week

HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athlete of the Week for the week of December 3-9, 2012. Men’s basketball junior TJ Short earned the honor for his outstanding efforts this past week.

Short, an Antwerp, Ohio native (Antwerp H.S.), helped guide the Foresters to a 1-1 record last week. In HU’s 67-66 win over Marian University on Tuesday, the 6-5 forward poured in a game-best 22 points which included going 4-for-7 behind the arc and a perfect 8-for-8 from the charity stripe. He also pulled down six boards and dished out two assists.

On Saturday, Short tossed in 15 points in the Foresters’ 89-88 loss to 10th-ranked Grace College. He was again perfect at the line, making good on all three of his attempts.

Short is currently averaging 15.4 points and 3.3 rebounds per outing. He leads the team in free throw shooting with his 82.0 percent (50-for-61) which also places him fourth among his Crossroads peers.
